Greene County High School music students are in the final rehearsals of the musical “The Drowsy Chaperone,” which will be on stage March 1-3.
The 1998 musical, with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s.
Lead roles are played by Avery Bardole, Andrea Grundon, Jacob Hanson and Josey Weaver. Also in the cast are Arthur Bardole, Clay Peters, Robert Arnold, Kaitlin Tjostem, Claire Teusch, Mitchell Stevens Lia Lenchanko, Makenna Fox, Kierstin Purdie, Hannah Yetter, Morrgan Zmolek, Megan Higgins and Hannah Curtis.
“The Drowsy Chaperone” is directed by choir director Dave Heupel. The accompaniment will be provided by students and community members.
Performances will be in the GrCoHS auditorium Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, at 7 p, and Sunday, March 3, at 2 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. They’re available at Home State Bank, Peoples Bank (Jefferson), and the school office. Tickets may be available at the door.
